Each chiropractor graduates with the same degree: doctorate of chiropractic (D.C.). As in medicine, chiropractors can specialize in many different areas. It is the specialization of the chiropractor that allows for differentiation in the field and best enables him/her to provide the highest level of care.

In addition to practicing most all of the 'standard' chiropractic techniques, Dr. Manison is also certified in some of the most specialized and advanced techniques in the field today. Dr. Manison is one of only a few chiropractors in Maryland who is a Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practitioner (C.C.E.P.) and he is only one of two Diplomate Sports Physicians (DACBSP®) in the state of Maryland.  In addition, he is certified in Kinesio® Taping. These high level achievements demonstrate that Dr. Manison has specific advanced training for the treatment of extremity and sports injuries.

	The Graston Technique is a very advanced technique for the treatment of soft tissue (muscle/ligament) pathology. It involves the use of special patented stainless steel instruments to 'break up' scar tissue (fascial adhesions), which allows for less pain, better joint function, and faster healing. Dr. Manison has earned an Advanced Certification in the Graston Technique.
	Dr. Manison is certified in Active Release Techniques (ART) for the lower extremity, upper extremity, and spine.  He is one of the only FULL BODY certified Active Release providers in Maryland and is the only practitioner in Columbia, Ellicott City, and Howard County.  ART is a highly sophisticated and effective technique used for the resolution of soft tissue and nerve entrapment problems.
	The Cox flexion/distraction technic is a very advanced treatment geared toward specifically treating both cervical and lumbar disc pathology. Currently, Dr. Manison is one of the only re-certified practitioners in the state of Maryland. This means his training is current.
	Dr. Manison is one of only a few practitioners in the State of Maryland specially licensed as a Low-Speed Rear Crash Reconstruction Specialist. He also has specialized training in treatment for such injuries.
	Dr. Manison is one of only a couple Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practitioners (CCEP) in the Columbia, Ellicott City, Baltimore, and Howard County, Maryland regions.  This designate program confers a high level of post-graduate education for the assessment and treatment of extremity and sports injuries.
	Dr. Manison is a DACBSP®(Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians®).  He is one of only two in the state of Maryland and the only one in the Columbia, Ellicott City, Howard County, MD areas.  From assessing emergency situations on the field of play to evaluating and dealing with sports injuries in the office, the DACBSP® designates Dr. Manison as having the highest level of training in in the field of chiropractic/physical medicine.  The American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians® (ACBSP®) licenses this program and the Board, itself, is Nationally licensed and highly respected.   (CCSP®, DACBSP®, Diplomate American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians®, Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner®, Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician®, and American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians™ are service, trade and/or certification marks of the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians, Inc)
	Dr. Manison is a CKTP® (Certified Kinesio® Taping Practitioner) as issued by the Kinesio Taping Association, the official organization of Kinesio Taping.  He is one of only a few in Columbia, Ellicott City, and all of Howard County, MD.  The taping technique is advanced and is used in high level sports to help treat injured areas and enhance athletic performance.
